What happens during a Reflexology session? The session is performed fully clothed except for shoes and socks. We will review a short questionnaire, to make sure we cover any special issues that need to be reviewed. You will be either sitting in a reclined chair or laying on a massage table, the choice is yours.
-
Can I talk during the session? It is fine to talk during the session if you would like to, but you will find that you’ll benefit and get the most out of the session when your eyes are closed and relax.
-
What if I fall asleep? It is super relaxing, so many people fall asleep during their session. This is great and can show how much you needed the rest.
-
What if my feet are ticklish? The pressure used during a session is firm and directional which is not ticklish.
-
What if I am embarrassed by my feet? Please don’t worry! As a Reflexologist you will find we love feet, all feet. There is never judgement, all feet deserve some attention, you will be amazed how you feel after a session.
-
Does Reflexology hurt?Reflexology is very relaxing. There is generally no pain. However, if there are any imbalances or blockages in your body, you may experience small twinges/tenderness or minor discomfort while these imbalances are being cleared.
-
Does Reflexology diagnose illnesses? No, Reflexologists are not qualified to diagnose illnesses.
-
How will I feel after the session?Reflexology has a different effect on each individual, depending on their own circumstances. Most people I find tend to feel calm, relaxed or even sleepy, while others feel energetic and full of life. Some people can experience the feeling of light headedness, emotional sensitivity or extreme tiredness, but these are indications that the treatment is having a positive effect and these will only be short-term side effects and go away shortly after a session. This is transitory and a sign of healing. Drinking plenty of water is highly recommended.

How many sessions will I need? This will depend on your reasons for having Reflexology. My recommendation is to initially have a succession of 4 to 6 weekly sessions to give your body a chance to respond well. If your body has been out of balance for some time, it is fair to expect that it will take time and a number of sessions to regain balance. After this time, many people opt for a session once a month to keep them balanced. Some clients alternate Reflexology sessions with other relaxing modalities such as massage or acupressure. Finances and time can dictate the answer to this question as well, but your body will thank you whenever you get the chance to have a session.
